There are many different ways to protect your real estate in Wargate. There are mainly two different ways: interior protections and land grants (hamlet and town), with the Wild being completely unprotected.

Types of Islands[edit | edit source]

There are many different islands in the Wargate Universe. Some are settled, while we leave most completely natural, up to the nations to settle themselves.

Settled Islands[edit | edit source]

Settled Islands are typically already densely populated. They usually aren't too big, but if they are, then they usually have more than one town. Most, if not all, of a settled island is protected from griefing or placing or taking blocks; often, extended city and road boundaries are protected, with the deep forest, desert, etc. being left open to other players. Settled islands serve as the principal places of commerce, questing, etc.
For the most part, each settled island is owned/claimed by one or more races. Only members of each race are allowed to reach their respective islands, unless the settled island remains neutral. Usually the only type of protection available on a settled islands is an interior protection in the cities. However, occasionally, land grants will be given out to people who petition to create a new town by creating a Town Charter.

Wild Islands[edit | edit source]

Wild Islands are the only other type of island. On wild islands, no races have enough control over the others to claim and assert their authority over the island. Therefore, Wild Islands are a constant place of PVP and uncertainty. Additionally, Wild Islands have by far the most monsters and dungeons. Although most forms of transportation and NPCs are found on settled islands, occasionally, you will run across sparse ones on Wild Islands as well. Instead of most of the island being protected, most of the island is unprotected, with the single protection being Land Grants.

Types of Protections[edit | edit source]

Interior Protections[edit | edit source]

Interior Protections only protect the interior of a building. That means that you can do virtually anything within the protection except edit the exterior. Interior Protections are the cheapest type of protection. Interior protections are always in cities/towns, and sometimes might be in certain places in the wild (such as lodges). Interior Protections can range from an apartment room all the way to a mansion.
